My professional writing falls into two categories: science and ethics/life philosophy. My science writing is focused on computer science and technology, psychology, neuroscience, education, and the history of science.
My blogging on ethics, life philosophy, and parenting is inspired by ancient Stoicism. I am interested in how this ancient philosophy can be applied to our everyday lives today, especially as women and parents. I write about these explorations in The Stoic Mom.
My work has been published in Newsweek, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Industry Standard, California Lawyer, Stanford Business, Stanford Report, Biomedical Computation Review, San Francisco Daily Journal, Los Angeles Daily Journal, Artweek, and more.
And ever since I could hold a pencil, I've also pursued creative writing - especially poetry. My book of poetic memoir is called Words That Carry Us.
I earned my undergraduate degree at Harvard and my master's at Stanford.
When I'm not writing and reading, you can find me working on my art or photography, exploring nature, or hanging out with my creative family.
