Briefly
I'm Director of Research and Innovation Communications at Adobe, where my team explains our work in generative and agentic AI, LLMs, and computer vision. I joined Adobe Research in 2017 as its first science writer and built the program from there.
Before Adobe I was a journalist and communications strategist, with writing in Newsweek, the San Francisco Chronicle, and Stanford Magazine. I'm co-author of Beyond Stoicism, published in the UK as Live Like a Philosopher and now out in Spanish, and I've written The Stoic Mom since 2016.
I write, lead research communications, host a podcast, and coach.
How I see the work
Research communications isn't just publicity
Announcing a research or technical result is easy. The work that matters makes the discovery meaningful and usable: by executives deciding where to invest, by product teams deciding what to build, and by users deciding whether to care about it. I came to communications from journalism and humanities research, which means I start by asking what's actually true, not what's meant to be impressive or persuasive. Technologists take my work seriously as a result.
